 Overview

By integrating PTV Drive&Arrive you enable PTV Map&Guide for real time monitoring of your trips.

For achieving this goal, PTV Map&Guide creates internally trips for PTV Drive&Arrive that can be used.

There are two major benefits:

For being able to use the features PTV Map&Guide has to be informed about the current positions of the vehicles. You can do this by sending the tour to the driver.

How to use PTV Drive&Arrive ETA calculation in PTV Route Optimiser ST?

  • Use the <Send trip> function in the context menu of a trip in the trip overview to send a trip to a driver.
  • The driver should download (or has downloaded previously) the PTV Driver App.
  • If the driver clicks in the received email on the link to the trip, the PTV Driver App opens with that trip, and the driver sends positions to the trip to the Drive&Arrive server.
  • The PTV Drive&Arrive service calculates the ETA and presents it to the driver, so the driver can see when he will arrive.
  • In the use case <Sent routes> you can monitor the progress of your vehicles on the route.

How can I send notifications to my clients?

  • When sending a trip to the driver, you have also the possibility to inform a customer email-address per stop.
  • When doing so, you have to configure, when messages are sent to the customer. Options are:
    • When the route has been sent to the driver.
    • When the trip has started.
    • When the stop-off point is approached.
    • When there is a delay (entering the delay).
  • You will be informed, and you will receive a link to look up the current ETA.
