Overview

By integrating PTV Drive&Arrive you enable PTV Route Optimiser ST for real time monitoring of your trips.

For achieving this goal, PTV Route Optimiser ST creates internally trips for PTV Drive&Arrive that can be used.

There are two major benefits:

You can see the current ETA of your trips in PTV Route Optimiser ST.
You can send automated notification email to the dock or to the partner.

For being able to use the feature PTV Route Optimiser ST has to be informed about the current position of the vehicles. You can do this in different ways:

If possible, use positions by connecting a TMS / Telematics system
Else send the trip to the driver to use the PTV Driver App to send current positions

How to switch on the PTV Drive&Arrive option in PTV Route Optimiser ST?

To use the PTV Drive&Arrive functions in PTV Route Optimiser ST, the user currently logged in must be assigned the PTV Drive&Arrive permission.
To change settings, the user currently logged in must also be assigned the DaveSettings permission.
In the options, a few settings like the access-key and some URLs have to be configured so that PTV Drive&Arrive can be used in PTV Route Optimiser ST
- PTV Drive&Arrive URL displays the URL of the PTV Drive&Arrive system.
- Basic URL for ETA link displays the URL used in the list of trip stops for the Link (PTV Drive&Arrive) column.
- PTV Drive&Arrive App URL displays the URL used in the e-mail to the drivers. The e-mail contains the SCEMID link to start the PTV Driver App directly with this SCE-MID link (provided that the app is installed).
The connection test shows if the connection toPTV Drive&Arrive is working

How to see the ETA in PTV Route Optimiser ST?

The PTV Drive&Arrive functions can be accessed in trip planning, in the trip list via the context menu.

The selected trips are sent to PTV Drive&Arrive via the Activate monitoring function.
In the options under Planning requirements > PTV Drive&Arrive, using the “For trip release” parameter, it can be configured that the trips are automatically sent to PTV Drive&Arrive when they are released.
With “Send email notifications” it is possible to send a notification to the customer. Emails can be sent for selected trips having already been registered inPTV Drive&Arrive.

How do I set up notifications?

General licensing
There are manual and automatic notifications. For automatic notifications, the entry Smartour.Licenced.NotifyMessages has to be set enabled in the license file.
Additionally, you need a token for the service. Please set the value for NotifyMessagingService.Token to the token
Setting up the communication service
The communication service (PTV Notify Messaging Service) is used to send SMS and email automatically. It is installed separately and can be accessed at http://localhost:8088/.
Options for the notification are located in general options > notifications
There you specify how much time in advance you would like to be notified, and which time window is related to it
In general options > notifications > templates you can set more options regarding language and additional fields
In general options > notifications > schedule you can switch on/off the service or restrict it to specific days or times.

To provide positions to PTV Drive&Arrive, you can use free of charge driver apps

How to send trips to a driver?

When you installed the PTV Driver App, you can send trips directly to the driver.

In PTV Route Optimiser ST you connect a driver app OBU to the driver, then you can send trips to them.

The trips will be sent by email. In the email, the driver clicks on a link to open the trip in the already installed PTV Driver App.
