 Overview

The free of cost PTV Driver App is an ideal companion for your PTV Drive&Arrivesolution.

An ETA Service always needs positions and a target to calculate ETA for it.

If you do not have the positions of the vehicles you want to monitor on hand, you can always use the PTV Driver App to provide positions to your created tour. You can download the PTV Driver App from Google Play Store or iTunes App Store for free without registration.

The PTV Driver App can be used in various ways:

• You send an email with a link of the trip to your drivers mobile,
  with a link like this: https://driveandarrive-v1.cloud.ptvgroup.com/qrc/<SCEMID>
  
• the driver opens the link answers some questions, and the positions are sent
• The driver can enter a shared Trip-ID (so called SCEM-ID) to identify a trip
• The driver can enter any address (to monitor a trip for himself and share the ETA with others)
• The driver can enter an address, select an Arrival Board around this location if available and send his position / ETA to this Arrival Board

Drivers can:

• Be used also with trips that contain multiple stops
• Be used with different vehicles (the driver selects)
• With different rest and break times
• Can enter individual information for Arrival Boards
• Use the PTV Driver App internationally, with different vehicle characteristics in different regions of the world
• Can see their own ETA and share it by email, SMS or other means
• Start Navigation to the next target
• Use the application in the background

How to send trips to the Driver App?

You can send an EMail/ SMS to the driver, containing the link to the tour

https://driveandarrive-v1.cloud.ptvgroup.com/qrc/<SCEM-ID>

Just replace <SCEM-ID> by the SCEM-ID for the trip or for the stop

 

How to create trips to be used in the driver app?

If you create trips in thePTV Drive&Arrive API,
that you would like to use in the PTV Driver App Your driver will be happy,
if he can identify the different stops by some naming.

Make sure the information for stops contain an block with address information in the customdata section, with these fields:

• postCode - the zip code for the the stop
• city - the name of the town
• street - the name of the street
• houseNumber - the house number
• label - A different naming for the stop, displayed by default
• info - additional information to the stop, will be displayed in a seperate field not directly with the address
